I’ve just finished the first concept for the new phdesign site powered by WordPress, and I think it’s come up really well. I promised myself I’d do at least 3 concepts before converting it to html, but being impatient as I am I think this design will go to press. I hope that being based on a blogging platform I might maintain the site more and keep the content dynamic, so themes may be improved or updated as it evolves.
Although I love web design and the whole design process, I see work out there that is fantastic and when it come to icon designs there’s no point in trying to do my own when there is great stuff available for free. Below are some of the images used on this site and where you can get them yourself.

This cute bird is provided free by IconEden (http://iconeden.com) and released by smashing magazine (http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/06/24/birdies-cute-free-twitter-icons-for-your-blog/). I wanted the bird facing left which meant I had to recreate the ‘follow me!’ text on his card. |
